Legacy Society
William Cooper Procter Legacy Society
In the 1920s, William Cooper Procter—grandson of Procter & Gamble’s co-founder—donated $5 million to Cincinnati Children’s. His visionary gift (valued at nearly $80 million today) helped build new facilities and launch our Research Foundation, sparking breakthroughs that changed pediatric care forever.
Thanks to his generosity, Procter’s legacy lives on through our world-class care, research, and education, like:
- Albert Sabin’s oral polio vaccine
- The first functional heart-lung machine (doubling the survival rate of heart surgeries)
- Life-saving treatment for premature babies through human surfactant
- The rotavirus vaccine, now used in 100+ countries
The William Cooper Procter Legacy Society honors those who include Cincinnati Children’s in their estate plans. Legacy gifts—through wills, trusts and charitable trusts, real estate, life insurance, retirement assets, and more—are essential to continuing the innovation Procter set in motion. Members of the William Cooper Procter Legacy Society receive:
- Special recognition as a society member
- Invitations to exclusive events
- Personalized updates on the impact of their gift
Please contact the Office of Legacy Planning to learn more or notify us of your planned gift. Your legacy can help transform children’s lives for generations to come.
